Controlling the visibility of components

When you place a component in the drawing area, its visibility depends on in which mode you have placed the component, e.i. which view button you have clicked on. If you for example are in the Wall mode and place a component in the drawing area, that component will only be visible in that particular view mode. Note, it is only possible to change the visibility on some components, e.g. text components, dimensions, rectangles. You need to be in Expert mode.

To change the visibility of a component, proceed as follow:

  1. Select the component of which you would like to change visibility on.

  2. Right click and select the Visibility and Categorization option. The Visibility dialog box appears.

  3. Now you can either select another View mode, e.i. the component will further on be visible in that view mode, and/or connect the component to another category.

  4. Close the dialog box when you are satisfied.

If you have forgotten in what view mode you have added a component, click the View all button in the bottom of the program window. In that view all components are visible regarding of which view mode you added it to.

Example:

You have made a drawing of a workstation and would like to give the installer special instructions about the installation. You added the instructions to the drawing when you were in the Normal view mode but you wish to change so the instructions are just visible in the Installation view mode.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Normal view mode and select the dimension.

  2. Right click and select the Visibility and Categorization option in the Visibility dialog box that appears.

  3. Click the View modes tab and select the Installation checkbox and uncheck the Normal option.

  4. Now the instructions are only visible in the Installation view mode.
