There are two ways to place a plain ceiling:
A. Automatically using the Ceiling dialog box.

Figure 1
Click the Ceiling settings button in the Ceilings field on the Wall drawing tab.
The Ceiling dialog box appears (see Figure 2).
Select the Show ceiling check box. With the option Extend ceiling you decide how far out from the furthest point on your drawing the ceiling should extend. You can also enter the Ceiling height here.

Figure 2
B. Manually by selecting the Plain ceiling component from the Wall drawing tab (see Figure 3).
Select the Plain ceiling component under Ceiling.
Move the ceiling (in the form of a blue rectangle) into the drawing area. To place a ceiling that is the same size as the room, move the mouse pointer to the point of the intersection for the walls (see Figure 4), and click to begin positioning.

Figure 4
In the input box that appears, enter the desired values for width and depth (corresponds to the length of the walls) and confirm this by pressing the Enter key or clicking. A faster way of doing this is to let the ceiling components automatically adjust their sizes according to the walls, without entering the values. First, move the mouse pointer horizontally towards the edge of the first wall and click. Now do the same thing at the end of the vertical wall (see Figure 5).

Note: You can also stretch the component manually after placement by clicking and dragging the three yellow snap points (see Figure 3 above). |
