Changing backgrounds

You can change the background colour in the 3D drawing area. You can choose a predefined color, define your own color or add a panorama view.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the 3D component tab.

  2. Click Background (see Figure 1). The 3D background dialog box opens.  

  3. Choose a background and click Apply. You can choose a predefined color, define your own color or add a panorama view.

  4. The background will now change in the 3D drawing area.  

 

 

Note:

  • Some predefined background options is only applicable to the 3D view drawing area, e.g. gradient and "cloudy" backgrounds. If you select one of these options, the 2D view drawing area will turn to the standard background colour (beige).

  • If you select the Direct check box, the background is changed directly without having to first click Apply.

  • The change of background will not affect the print out background, that is white.

 

 

Add a user defined background

You can select a predefined color for your background or define your own color.

 

Click the User define tab in the 3D Background dialog where you find the following options:

 

  • User color: When clicking this icon a new color is added to the list together with a small colored button at the bottom of the dialog. Click this colored button and define your own color.

  • User Gradient Color: When clicking this icon a new and gradient color is added to the list together with two small colored buttons in the bottom of the dialog. Click these buttons to define the two colors that should be included in your background color.

  • Create a copy: You can create a copy of a color by selecting one of the background colors in the list and then click the Create a copy button.  

  • Rename background: Select the background color you wish to rename and click the Rename background button.

  • Delete background: Select the background color you wish to delete and click the Delete background color button.

 

 

Add a panorama background

You can select a panorama view for your 3D background. Click the Panorama tab in the 3D Background dialog and select desired option.

Note: To be able to add a panorama view background you need to have the advanced graphics engine activated.
